It’s been determined that it takes 21 days to develop a habit, but starting, and most importantly, continuing a exercise routine can be both daunting and difficult.

While Personal Training offers the individual attention and the accountability of a trainer dedicated to you, Group Training gives you the extra encouragement boost you need to get up and active on a regular basis.

After operating a gym where Group Training is the most popular service, I’ve been able to compile a list of the top 5 advantages of participating in Group Training classes:

1. MOTIVATION

The upbeat music, the fast-paced moves, and a Trainer that seems to have a ridiculous amount of energy, it is almost impossible for you to not get motivated. Plus, having other people exercising alongside you can also give you that extra boost you need to keep moving – nobody wants to be the one falling behind, right?

2. ACCOUNTABILITY

Just like personal training, group training sessions hold you accountable for turning up and putting 100% effort into your workout. That sense of accountability and community you feel is what will prevent you from going home and binge watching on Netflix. At Golightly Fit, we also offer all Group Training members the opportunity to meet with their trainer monthly for progress tracking at no additional cost.

3. STRUCTURE

When you’re working out, having a consistent or well-structured plan in place is a must to see results. Scheduling your group training sessions into your weekly workout routine will give you a structured foundation from which to build strength, lose weight or tone your body. Many boutique-style studios, like Golightly Fit, offer class times so you can do it before work, after work, or even during your lunch break!

4. FUN

Group Training is all about a fun and social environment is why many people prefer group training to a lone gym session or even Personal Training. Then, there are introverts that are actually intimidated by group settings. Which is why at Golightly Fit, we set every new person up with a “veteran” during their first class to help them through the circuits and provide a level of comfort. The music, the variety of exercises and the camaraderie between other members make Group Training exciting and fun!

5. SUPPORT

Both your trainer and your fellow members are there to support and assist you throughout your entire sweat session. This support group can be just what you need to power through your workout, push yourself a little bit further and reach your health and fitness goals. Many members of Golightly Fit have found friends who hang out outside of the gym.
